FREE EMS TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
5 Alarm is excited to continue their series of FREE Training Opportunities in 2019. 5 Alarm, in conjunction With Lake Country Fire and Rescue Training Center is pleased to offer monthly free EMS lectures beginning on January 24th. The topics and dates listed below are mostly paramedic instructor lead lecture for EMT, AEMT and I-12 First Responders. Class size is small (max 10 students) in an effort to offer more one on one participation. CE, Continuing Education hours will be earned for those who complete each segment.

Classes will begin at 6:00PM and run until 8:30PM. Class size is limited to 10 students and pre-registration is required.

ANNUAL HURST JAWS OF LIFE SCHOOL - CRASH RESPONSE 2019
Presented by 5 Alarm Fire & Safety Equipment’s Training Division and Hurst Jaws of Life
5 Alarm Fire & Safety invites you to attend a comprehensive Jaws of Life Certification course at our Delafield, Wisconsin facility. The course will last two days, giving you an in depth understanding of auto and heavy rescue. It is our intent to challenge all skill levels by creating scenarios that require everyone to participate. Classroom and practical teaching methods will be used.

FREE EXTRICATION TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Presented by 5 Alarm Fire & Safety Training Division

5 Alarm is excited to announce a New series of FREE Extrication Training Opportunities held at the 5 Alarm Office in Delafield on the third Thursday of each month. The Lead Instructor for these training’s will be Andrew Karnes. Andrew has eleven years experience in the fire service and is currently a full time Firefighter/Paramedic with the Waukesha Fire Department. Classes will begin at 6:00PM and run until 8:30PM. The first class, which will be the only class held on a Wednesday, will strictly be lecture. The following four classes in the series will be hands-on vehicle extrication training. Class size is limited to 20 students and pre-registration is required.

FORCIBLE ENTRY TRAINING
Presented by 5 Alarm Fire & Safety Equipment’s Training Division
A lot can be accomplished on the fire ground with only hand tools. 5 Alarm Fire & Safety invites you to attend a comprehensive Forcible Entry Training at our Delafield, Wisconsin facility. This course is designed to help Firefighters enhance their skills of conventional forcible entry using some of our most important tools of the trade. Our classes are taught by experienced & knowledgeable instructors/firefighters using the best props available that closely mimic many real world forcible entry challenges. Upon completion of this course, firefighters will be competent in performing a rapid size up to identify and defeat multiple forcible entry challenges. Practical teaching methods will be used. Each student will be required to have SCBA with spare bottle, turnout jacket & pants, boots, firefighter or extrication gloves, helmet & safety glasses.

BASIC: This course is designed to help Firefighters develop the skills and habits necessary to master the craft of conventional forcible entry using some of our most important tools of the trade.

ADVANCED: Taking what was learned in our BASIC class or having prior knowledge of forcible entry; this class will include the following:
  • Confined Space forcible entry with zero visibility
  • Advanced forcible entry saw work
  • Defeating carriage bolts and security hardware
  • Dead-end hallway forcible entry/Latch guard
  • Vacant Board-up Security Devices
  • Garage Door Cuts
  • SCBA & Spare Bottle necessary (student's responsibility)

SCBA Care & Maintenance - Thursday, October 4, 2018
This class will cover common problems that 5 Alarm Service Technician’s have found with facepiece’s and scba’s due to lack of maintenance and/or proper inspection. Students will be educated on what to look for, helping identify problems and resolve them before they are discovered on the fire ground and ultimately help reduce down-time of equipment.

SAW Care & Maintenance - Thursday, October 18, 2018
This class will provide students information on the basics of how to break down, inspect, and clean chainsaws and rotary saws to keep them on the rigs, instead of in the shop.

ICE RESCUE TRAINING
Presented by 5 Alarm Fire & Safety Equipment’s Training Division
All first responders should know how to carry out a surface ice rescue. Is your team prepared to safely manage a thin ice emergency? 5 Alarm’s Courses follow NFPA Standards wherever applicable. Participants are required to have full turn-out gear, PFD vest (personal floatation device) and ice rescue suit. "ON-LOCATION” EXTRICATION TRAINING
Presented by 5 Alarm Fire & Safety Equipment’s Training Division
These "On-Location” Extrication Training packages are now available for purchase. Your fire department would host the event at the location of your choice within 5 Alarm’s four state coverage area which includes Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. All necessary Extrication Equipment will be provided. Participants are required to have full turn-out gear, helmets and eye-protection.

The American Heart Association CPR CERTIFICATION COURSE

Presented by 5 Alarm Fire & Safety Equipment’s Training Division
With Optional FIRST AID and/or BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN Training Modules. This course meets the American Heart Association’s new CPR science guidelines adopted in November 2006. Participants who complete the course will receive certification cards from the American Heart Association that are valid for two years.
