5 Alarm Fire and Safety Equipment, Inc. is one of our favorite vendors because of the people in the organization.  A lot of vendors only get involved when they know there is money available.  Probably the biggest difference in dealing with Joe and Dale, and the other people at 5 Alarm, is the relationship of their organization as friends, who try to help the Gary Fire Department even when a purchase is not involved.  Knowing that they are loyal friends during the hard times just has a way of making a difference when times get better and purchasing is involved.  Some vendors believe that wastes a lot of time.  We believe it strengthens commitment to quality service, not just sales.

They keep coming back, and we like that.  They come back not because they need our business, but because they care enough to keep a good working relationship with even the less-frequent customers.   That's probably why they have such a growing business.  With people like Joe, Joli and Dale, you can't help but like doing business with them.  That's good for the Gary Fire Department, 5 Alarm Fire and Safety Equipment, and also good for the Fire Service as a whole.

We use equipment from many different manufacturers.  Some of this equipment you carry, some you do not, however your staff has given our department insight on what works (or what may work better), and we appreciate that.  When I deal with vendors, I like to hear from them even when I am not "buying" and your staff has always kept in touch with me, both in person and on the phone.

Just a letter of Thanks to your and your company, I have been a customer for about three years.  My sales rep. Jim Dotson is easy to deal with, his wealth of knowledge in the products and his service is top of the line.  I have also had the pleasure of dealing with Pam on the phone orders, she too is very knowledgeable with the products and is quick to return calls or gather information and quotes for me.  Just last year my department put a new engine in service and Jim and Pam did a super job of helping me equip this truck.  Jim even delivered the hose to save us shipping costs.  Its smooth transactions like these that keep customers happy and coming back, and when it comes time to spec out a new ambulance 5 Alarm will definitely get the call.  Keep up the good work
